Brian will find a place in the East Dorset Community Library 2.0 - # povertyinwales | Wales Co-operative Centre
As part of its work, the Communities 2.0 program has provided - and to provide assistance - computer drop-in sessions, and free-of-charge in libraries and other community venues throughout Wales.
Over the past twelve months, there has been an increase in the number of people supported by the project because they want to go online in order to find work. This is also influenced by the ongoing reforms to the welfare system, where people have to claim benefits online through the Universal ktel Credit.
This should not be confused and Job Match Online - the website that job seekers no longer have to be used to search for jobs - but fair to say that all this has been a significant factor in motivating people to get online. The drop-in ktel sessions have enabled people to learn whatever they wanted, at a pace which suits them. However, in the context of using the web to find a job, they have complemented the course Web for Work structured more available thanks to Communities 2.0.
Brian Allen benefited from this assistance in Tredegar Library. Brian was unemployed and had been advised by his local Jobcentre Plus to attend courses free-of-charge ktel and made available in the library. He thought that attending computer classes will help him find work, as there is little information he had about sending emails, including the use of attachments that can be used to send CV.
Brian Communities 2.0 in its sole previous experience of using computers, before the class, was simple ktel searches on the internet, and he has learned ktel so itself. "When I started using the computer ktel to find work, through Job Match Online, I was unsure how to apply for jobs and how to upload my CV". ktel
Following the sessions, Brian now feels that he has gained the skills required to search and apply for other jobs in the future. He has found temporary work, following the sessions, but would like to learn more about computers: "I would like to have a little more experience based on what I already learned, in order to be fully confident about what I was doing online. I would advise anyone who is unemployed computer to get as much information as possible, as it is required when applying for most jobs. " ktel
