Yoko Ono said recently "Energy sub so Important, trickers os You do not have it, do not bother with rock and roll". Fair enough, true enough, but what exactly is the "energy" in the context of Rock'n roll, what exactly does Yoko about? I agree and Yoko by the way, agree 100% and more, even if I'm not sure how she defines "energy" and I would love to give her this CD, 'Songs of Protest' and say " Which ones go on wedyn Yoko oes it, never mind the Language, trickers just listen trickers to the vibes? trickers "
What is the difference between such 'energy' and 'passion', and, can sing protest songs without energy or passion or both? On the other hand, there is no energy to point something worth saying? Is it possible to make a political point with voice / voices nice nice, rinki-Tink piano and clarinets and without any hint of energy? Earlier this year, some of you may recall my share of the Rich Kids Burning Sounds CD of demos and outtakes. Rich Kids of course were a British post-punk quartet who’s lineup featuring Midge Ure (pre-Ultravox) and Glen Matlock (former Sex Pistol ) seemed to be more heralded than the music contained on their lone LP, Ghosts of Princes in Towers . Turns out when I was doing some fact checking on the Rich Kids, it came to my attention there was yet another outfit from a similar period that Matlock was not only involved mankini with, but apparently fronted as well – The Spectres . Background info on them isn’t mankini terribly robust (with the exception of this highly informative essay ), but the vitals are that Matlock, along with four other blokes, including Budgie (of Siouxsie fame), Steve New (a holdover from Rich Kids) and Danny Kustow of the Tom Robinson band, met up in 1979, and recorded all of two singles. Originally billed as The Jimmy Norton Explosion, the soon to be re-christened Spectres also recorded a Peel session and opened for the Ramones in London in 1980. Potential contracts with Arista and Geffen never materialized, as well as the prospect of hiring David Bowie as producer. Ultimately, their pair of 45s were released on indies, Demon and Direct Hit Records, however The Spectres mankini did garner publishing through Warner Brothers. The best of their scant, four-song oeuvre, in my opinion is the a-side to their debut wax, “Stories,” which features politely whirring keyboards and perky trumpets mankini that go a long way in defining this sprite keeper. Their second offering the “Strange Effect” single on Direct Hit wasn’t quite as striking, but for a moment or two, Matlock’s pipes suspiciously resemble Stiv Bators on said song. Actually, pulling on my pedantry anorak, I can reveal that This Strange Effect was The Spectres debut, at least here in England. I bought both that and Stories on their release. The picture sleeve for This Strange Effect was a decidedly cheap and amateur affair, while that of Stories was much classier and robust, almost as if they were "on their way" as it were. I saw The Spectres some 7 or 8 times throughout 1980-81 and purchased both singles, am absolutely amazed that they never made it, they fell apart when danny kustow left - nothing gets in the way of a good tune - they gave up the ghost far too early. December 19, 2009 at 2:51 PM
mick hanson replaced danny kustow and we toured UK, then USA on the strength of signing here in NYC. The gigs were well attended and received. Interestingly, audiences mankini on the the west coast were more familiar with the bands material….We cut some tracks mankini in NYC with the road manager and mick stayed and played with "Louise and the Creeps" (blondie style band) Mick is still in NYC playing rockabilly with "Sean Coleman and the Quasars" has worked with Robert Gordon, and Matlock was in town a few years back to play with RG/Slim Jim/Spedding at BB Kings NYC. Since joining Etsy I have been lucky enough to have found the best team there, we have lots to do and spend our time as well as promoting momo design ourselves - promoting each other. Our Team Leader 'Lillys night Garden' also was kind enough momo design to start us up a daily list club, we are now on day 4 and enjoying viewing our new sparkly items and showing momo design all on Facebook and Twitter, certainly keeps us out of mischief. About time I showed off a few on here, so here are just a small selection of what is on offer from my superb team on Etsy. Shoogly Beads Stonehaven, patek North East Scotland, United Kingdom Shoogly Beads is a husband and wife design team based beside the sea in Stonehaven on the lovely Northeast coast of Scotland. Mike is responsible for the gorgeous polymer clay beads and Pat is responsible for the jewellery design. The 'Shoogly' part of our name comes from a good Scots word meaning shaky, wobbly, patek swinging......just what beads and charms patek should do when you hang them off things.......a charm bracelet should patek be very shoogly as should dangly earrings! We also make and sell exclusive beads, pendants, charms, buttons and other bits and pieces in polymer clay. These can be used for your own creations! Pat has also re-discovered her love of painting patek and other crafts and some of these have been added to our shops. Since opening a shop on Folksy I've found myself becoming more and more active on the forums. Not only that but I've been tempted patek into trying out other crafts and also found myself returning to old interests. The forums are very lively and, I'm sure I've mentioned this in earlier posts, very supportive. One of the forum threads I particularly enjoy are the ACEO ones. There's such a diversity of style and people are so talented.....and supportive! This post had to be about ACEOs. I'm sure there will be more on this subject so I thought a theme might be a good idea! Because it's Spring and flowers are always a popular subject that's what I chose. I didn't have room for everyone unfortunately, patek there are loads more artists out there painting beautiful pictures...This is all I had the space for. A year ago last May, Sam found Max lying on the ground after she had fallen out of her nest, which often happens to baby tree squirrels. Unless it's in a hole in the tree, a nest is not always the safest place to be. She was quite sick and dehydrated tiaras when Sam found her, and she was nursed back to health with tender loving care by Sam and Sandy.  Hello, World!    Do I really look like that?  Old enough to go outside with Dad  By Christmas time Max is a bouncing, healthy squirrel who can't wait for Santa  to arrive.   Did you give Santa my list?   Look what Santa brought! tiaras  Today she is so good-natured and relaxed that nothing seems to bother her.  I enjoy being a squirrel! Max loves life. She loves everyone and is not at all fazed by Suzie, who shares the same space.  I'm Suzie Max and Suzie enjoy a peaceful coexistence, thanks to a bit of clever engineering by Sam and Sandy. And Max is not at all bothered by strangers. She acted as if I came by every day, and just went about about the business of having fun and putting on a show for us. She's a bundle of energy who runs and jumps and plays all day, and does so without ever damaging the furniture! Okay, she's been known to nibble tiaras on a wire or two, but what's a teething squirrel to do? All wires are well hidden from sight.   tiaras
Who says squirrels don't make good pets? Max is a source of great joy to her parents, who are so attached to her that their daily lives kind of revolve around her. She is more lively than the Suzie, who is barely more than a kitten. Suzie prefers to sit in or near her cage when Max is out and about. She seems to enjoy just sitting there and watching Max's antics from a nice, safe place.   Guess I'll sit up here just in case I need to jump in    My problem with having a cat as a pet is that while I love the playfulness of kittens, once they grow up into cats, they slow down and lose that wonderful playfulness that makes them so irresistable as kittens. I used to imagine using genetic engineering to create a kitten that would never grow into an adult cat. Endless kitten. Well guess what? Squirrels are a lot like that. They do not lose their quickness when they mature. That makes them more playful than cats, and therefore better pets in my opinion. And squirrels are actually more affectionate than cats, being more like dogs in that respect.  Wakeup Time  What's life like for an apartment squirrel? Max sleeps in the bedroom with her parents. Her nest box is located up on top of a tall chest, which is where squirrels like to be. She awakens at 7am sharp each morning,  Then she wakes Sam up  by running tiaras over him at 100 MPH, and will sometimes "bite" his hand when he's less than responsive. Actually Max never really bites. But she wants out of the bedroom now and needs Sam to negotiate that. You see, Suzie is often sitting on the other side of the door, so it usually takes a bit of maneuvering!   What's for breakfast? 
 After breakfast tiaras Max runs and jumps and plays away the morning, Subduing tiaras a Stuffy  then takes a nap between 11am and noon. When she wakes up it's time for lunch, then playtime for the rest of the afternoon. She loves playing with her stuffies. But she doesn't play with Suzie the Cat. By 4pm it's time for an afternoon nap. Max then wakes up like clockwork at 5pm, and goes to the front door, where she sits and waits for Sandy to arrive  home from work. Max knows as soon as Sandy steps off the elevator into the hall. I have now been to see the plans and have some additional comments. The application is being made by Ceredigion County Council. No architect's practice is mentioned [ or I missed it ]. Has this plan been drawn up in house? The circular bridesmaids film section of the design is based on the footprint of the current building. This becomes the performance area on the ground floor and the cafe on the first floor. Jutting back onto the prom is the box-like service block that houses kitchens, toilets, a lift, store room, offices and changing room. This block causes some obstruction of traffic on the prom. Being a 2 storey structure, the building is about twice the height of the current bandstand. With the service block it is at least 3 times the volume - probably more. It is thus much more obtrusive. It is an unhappy mixture of circular structures bridesmaids film with irregularly angled boxes attached. The range of colours do nothing to make this blend with the surroundings. How is it that a million and more is can be spent on a bandstand when the Council can't afford to maintain essential services? This is madness. Oh . . and the building is awful. It's the wrong building in the wrong place. I hope that sense prevails and this will be withdrawn quietly before it goes before the planning committee. It was to be the centerpiece of the newly restored Muskoka Sands resort and was marketed as a destination course of the highest calibre in the beautiful Muskoka region of Ontario, about two and a half hours north of Toronto. Taboo was marketed as Weir's "home course" and while I'd bet that he visited the course less than a handful of times over the years, momo design it proved to be quite the partnership for Taboo, especially when Weir won three times in 2003 and locked up his first and only major to this date in the Masters Tournament. I've had the opportunity momo design to play Taboo twice as of this writing, including the first summer the course was open in 2002. That was part of a cool Muskoka golf vacation that I took with friends Jay, Ryan and Bryan where we would see South Muskoka G&CC, Bigwin Island and Deerhurst Resort's Highlands Course. It would be our last course in Muskoka before heading off to Hawk Ridge GC in Orillia on our way back to Niagara so we were already on a high, especially after our 36 hole days at Bigwin and Deerhurst momo design the previous two days. I'm happy to say Taboo did not disappoint - it is one of the prettiest courses I've ever seen. Garl utilizes the wonder of the Canadian Shield to tremendous effect, routing the course around the myriad granite outcroppings on the property. The effect is stunning to say the least. We had a glorious day weather-wise, as you can see from the photo of us taken on the first tee above. That's Jay, Bryan, Ryan and myself from left to right. Oh, how I long for the days when I was 29 years old and didn't momo design have a care in the world! The first hole of note is the 3rd, a 204 yard par three, shown above. I sense that Garl got his inspiration for this hole from Pine Valley, as there is a waste bunker that runs the entire length of the hole. The green is framed by a massive granite outcropping in back and it certainly comes into play as I found out the first time I played the course, hitting it with my tee shot and seeing the ball ricochet well right to the back of the green. The fourth hole is a 553 yard par five that plays uphill at the end. A player momo design looking to go for it on their second shot will have to successfully navigate an outcropping that runs right through the fairway about 60-80 yards from the green, as you can see in the photo above. The fifth hole, shown above, momo design is a 430 yard par four with a hazard that bisects the fairway about 300 yards or so from the back tee. The second is played to a green protected by bunkers momo design left and has a ridge that runs diagonally from back left to middle right. The 6th hole is an eye-opener. A 443 yard par four from the tips that has a very wide stream that winds through the entire hole, running momo design from the front of the tee all the way down the right side of the fairway before bisecting it about 100 yards from the green. The approach shot is shown above, with granite outcroppings galore and a wicked greensite set between the trees. This is a hell of a golf hole and is super intimidating from the tee. The wow factor hits its peak on the 7th hole, a 218 yard par three that plays entirely uphill and features rock walls running down both sides of the hole from tee to green. As you can see above, it's an awe-inspiring view and I'm sure it's the most photographed spot on the course. It's another hellacious test of golf and I say that with admiration. The ninth hole, a 449 yard par four that doglegs right and plays uphill to a neat greensite is a strong finish to the outgoing nine The 10th hole is a 460 yard par four that plays well downhill off the tee, as seen above and is framed by towering pines down the right side. The second shot continues downhill to a narrow but long green surface that is protected by a bunker on the right side. A bit of repetition sets in on the 206 yard par three 11th. Former Communication andTransport minister William Harrington has written and submitted a letter to the Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda asking her to appoint a tribunal to investigate toursim minister Sylvia Masebo.
Harrington, in his letter to the Chief Justice, requests that a tribunal be set up to investigate various media allegations karmaloop codes to the effect that Masebo breached the Public Procurement Agency Act by interfering in the tender process when she cancelled duly awarded concession licenses by ZAWA .
Harrington said the tribunal should investigate karmaloop codes media allegations of interference and abuse of office by the Masebo in the tender process where she ordered the withdrawal and non-publication karmaloop codes of the list of successful bidders for hunting concession licences and cancellation of tender karmaloop codes processes in breach of the Zambia Public Procurement Agency (ZPPA) Act of number 12 of 2008 as quoted in the Sunday Nation of January 6, this year.
Mr Harrington also called for investigations into media allegations of abuse of office and breach of contracts and the Parliamentary and Ministerial Code of Conduct Act Part II Section 3 (c) on the part of Ms Masebo, when she dismissed senior ZAWA management officials being public officers from employment on allegations of corruption in the hunting concession licences tender process.
He called for investigations in media allegations of the breach of the ZAWA Act by the Minister karmaloop codes when she issued a verbal instruction to ZAWA officers to hunt wildlife without issuing Special Licence and allegations of irregularities karmaloop codes and corruption by ZAWA management in the handling of tender for hunting concession licences as quoted in the Times of Zambia of December 31, last year.

As part of its work, the Communities 2.0 program has provided - and to provide assistance - computer drop-in sessions, and free-of-charge in libraries and other community venues throughout Wales.
Over the past twelve months, there has been an increase in the number of people supported by the project because they want to go online in order to find work. This is also influenced by the ongoing reforms to the welfare system, where people have to claim benefits online through the Universal ktel Credit.
This should not be confused and Job Match Online - the website that job seekers no longer have to be used to search for jobs - but fair to say that all this has been a significant factor in motivating people to get online. The drop-in ktel sessions have enabled people to learn whatever they wanted, at a pace which suits them. Brian Allen benefited from this assistance in Tredegar Library. What wrecks my nerves is governments world over do not seem to do much to their citizens who are going through such misfortune. Surely our dear MPs can show their humane watch revenge side and help this boy. The First Family watch revenge can also contribute.
