Photo: "Lost in Venice" "Report of 2013" at Gallery Penguin year's Nordic presentation of the works of the Italian pop art artist Silvia Papas. The exhibition includes 19 paintings (acrylic on canvas) and 6 graphic works (serigraphs) of the highest quality. Papas were represented at the Art Fair of Madrid frack in 2012 and there came into contact frack with Luz Botero, niece of the world renowned painter Fernando Botero. Under the auspices of Botero family should Papas' art now appears on Art-fair Panama in April 2013. Participation there is a great recognition. Silvia Papas (borne 1969) lives and works in the northern Italian city of Padua. She trained draftsman and painter. Papas' art is of international renown. Images are elegant and oozes identity. Inspiration for motives retrieves she from streets, magazines and television. She is particularly concerned the role of women in the modern, urban society, and great contrast. Glamor and superficiality versus trash and poverty. frack Papas is critical to society in an elegant way. The style is hyperrealism - a style even more figurative than classic popart. Basic colors of Papas' paintings silvery, gray, black and white. Some items in the images are accentuated with bold colors - eg red.
