There is some off filmed along the track, but one of the most memorable recordings was for the Dutch film The Ghost Train 1939 near Station Heerhugowaard. Memorable in the sense that a part of the village stood overnight on its head. Cinematographic put it - literally - rare.
Ghost Train is a cheerful thriller by Carl Lamac around a group of passengers stranded at the fictional station Valk Rade. They have missed their connection with all kinds of conditions and must now spend the night in the waiting room. The station is common in the middle of nowhere (why NS have put it down there, you wonder. But, let's not immediately impose all snails salt) and taxis not there. The continuing very ominous looking stationmaster tells them about the myth of the ghost train, sometimes in the middle of the night comes and everyone who looks at terror does drop dead.
And behold that night arrives precisely that thing. Of course wilson leather the ghost train is not a real ghost train, but what is or is going on, but people have to look at themselves. Ghost Train is still available on DVD and it's obviously not nice to give away the plot, even after 75 years. It is indeed a fine palatable film, despite occasionally toe-curling acting and a fairly be laughable acting decor. The waiting room of Falcon station Rade with his rough and decayed plaster more of a Efteling Cottage. And what do the straw bales in the waiting room, is also not entirely clear, except that they provide some protection during the shootout with criminals ... oops, still a spoiler.
Also track technically there is something to criticize in the film. The levers of the switches wilson leather look authentic, but generally put the NS in a room down where the public wilson leather has free access. The mechanism to open the railway bridge looks like something they borrowed from an early medieval castle, some thing which guards the bridge over the moat can run up and down. But let's not be too much whining. Hitchcock did sometimes disappoints. wilson leather
Ghost Train is largely contained in the studios of Cinetone in Amsterdam. The scenes that were shot in Heerhugowaard, are short and a viewer must be very well informed about the environment there, he wants to be able to recognize anything. Yet they jump out. The nocturnal scenes are where the bad guys with their so-called ghost train is shunted to a dead end, find that they are trapped and the train hissing and squeaking freeze and get back ride. A reporter from the Alkmaar Courant estimated in 1939 that included a total of 150 meters of film, a few seconds in a movie than an hour. But the recordings before the end of August 1939, resulted in a sweltering night in Heerhugowaard.
Around wilson leather the station was very busy. The NS had the stationmaster, a driver, a stoker and managing a handful shunter to the pitch dark platform net. And a locomotive natural (NS 3903) according to the reporter 'big clouds of steam and had to blow out a fire breathing monster along the platform needed dusting. Filmmaatschappij wilson leather Cinetone was present with a small army of cameramen, assistant cameramen, staff people, production assistants and employees which had to do little more than give cups of coffee for thirsty film people or water to sprinkle the rails (it rained in the film namely pipe steal) .
In addition, the mayor and the town clerk of Heerhugowaard wilson leather and present large numbers of villagers were those - such as the Alkmaar Courant suggested already fixed - for the first and probably last time a movie could admire from close in their lives. Those people could really feel that the life of filmmakers not only consist of carefree glamor. The director was at the beginning of the recordings made with the hands in her hair.
The film crooks were there for some unknown reason failed to arrive on time in Heerhugowaard. And so was production manager Rudolf wilson leather Meyer three Lord Hugo Where managers let enlist who could pass for the crooks. With hats on and big red handkerchiefs around their necks, they were directed to the film train. Since then they were so overcome by stage fright that they should be put somewhere in the background. A trembling crook full screen that looks natural not.
Fortunately for the director wilson leather arrived after some time still a car with real movie villains, wilson leather so he could just follow the original screenplay for the following recordings. To display the backup crooks feel that they are not for John with the short name had come out of bed, they were allowed to sit in the opening of a freight car so that their fellow villagers them later still in the
